One of Hollywoods biggest blockbuster directors will be returning to his biggest and best franchise amid allegations of sexual assault. Throughout a tumultuous year, Bryan Singer remained behind the scenes, first dropping out of promotions for X men: Days of Future Past, earlier this May. After filing for a motion to dismiss the charges brought against him, followed by a successful opening for the X Men franchise, everyone wondered how this controversy would effect his future with Fox studios and if he would be returning for the next installment in the series, X Men: Age of Apocalypse. After a series of instagram photos showing that he had been working on the script with long time collaborator, Simon Kinberg, Fox has announced that he will in fact be returning to direct the film. While I'm sure he is breathing easy for the moment, the allegations by former acquaintance, Michael Egan, given to Vulture, over what happened is a disturbing account of manipulation in Hollywood in the pursuit of false promises. It's an interesting read that gives a much more in depth look behind Bryan Singer, the now charged sxex offender, Marc J. Collins Rector, and his early yourtube-esque streaming company, DEN. Only the future will tell if Bryan Singer has dodged a bullet or if this storm can follow him up until the 2016 release of the next X Men film.
