Holiday season is under way and people are heading off to the cinemas to catch the latest and greatest films from the favorite franchises and The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay just stole the crown from the other (and highly disputed) highest grossing film of the year, Transformers: Age of Extinction. While this year has not been kind for the box office, The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 1 pulled in a cool 123 million domestically and 275 million globally, which is incredible considering the 2nd runner up was Disney's Big Hero 6 which only made little over 20 million in it's 3rd week in the box office. Unfortunately, the last film in the franchise. Catching Fire, still opened at a little bit higher than the latest installment, pulling in an estimated 158 million when it was released last November. Regardless of falling a little short, Lionsgate and company are most than likely going to have a very good holiday season. This is definitely one film that should be on your end of the year list, trust me, it's good.
