It's been a tough year for the box office but I'm not sure anyone's having an impressively and at the same time simultaneously disappointing year. Chris Hemsworth is far from an unknown actor but it looks like he's in trouble again for the 4th time in the same year. Looking back to the beginning of 2015, Hemsworth starred in the computer hacking thriller, Blackhat, which was viewed as a box office failure will pulled in under 20 million dollars against a 70 million dollar budget but the bad news didn't stop there. By summer, Avengers: Age of Ultron hit the big screens and while the box office giant did cross the billion dollar mark, it didn't beat the previous Avengers film that was released in 2012. Following this, the sequel in national lampoon series, Vacation, was released back in July but despite less than friendly reviews, the movie actually turned a strong profit earning 104.4 million against a budget of 31 million dollars. Sadly, the early reviews for the latest Hemsworth lead film, In the Heart of Sea, aren't looking to great either and with a budget of 100million dollars, thing's aren't looking so great for the film that's projected to pull in less than 15 million but it looks like the figure will most likely be closer or a little over 20 million when the weekend's said and done. It also doesn't help that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released the following weekend and a handful of holiday releases following the week after. Hopefully Hemsworth can generate some extra buzz with this SNL hosting duties Saturday movie. Regardless of this film doing well, I'm sure he's made enough money from his numerous appearances to leave 2015 comfortably.
