It's no secret that Nintendo has been running the handheld market for nearly 2 and 1/2 decades, but their latest has easily been on of my personal favorites and I'm not doubt excited to hear about the next addition to their long running portable console history, the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. First off, some of the more notable changes are the color button pads to the right as well as the grey analog button above them. The back of the console, (picture left) will also feature a ZR and ZL button in addition to the already current, R and L buttons. There will also be a redesigned 3D viewing system that wont constrict games to look at the screen from directly one angle. The system will also feature compatibility with Nintendo's Amiibo figurines, which are now available for pre-order. This, of course, makes sense, with Super Smash Bros making its way to the 3DS as well as Nintendos future plans for their toy line. The New 3DS and New 3DS XL will also have games exclusive to the system upon it's release, with the first being a brand new Xenoblade Chronicles title. More on this as the news develops. The New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL will launch in Japan October 11th, in Europe, 2015 and has yet to be announced for America but a representative for Nintendo of America stated that, "we have no plans to launch these products in the Americas this year." Take a look at some of the photos and the new charging dock below.
